International Oktoberfest gathered over 650 guests in Wroclaw
For the fifth consecutive year, over 600 managers of the largest companies in Lower Silesia, representatives of local authorities and diplomatic corps, as well as the representatives of Bavaria in Poland gathered in the courtyard of the Arsenal Museum in Wrocław to celebrate the International Oktoberfest – a renowned beer festival organized annually by the international chambers of commerce operating in Wrocław (British Polish Chamber of Commerce, American Chamber of Commerce in Poland, German Polish Chamber of Commerce in Poland, Irish Chamber of Commerce, Netherlands-Polish Chamber of Commerce and the Scandinavian-Polish Chamber of Commerce).
We have had the pleasure to welcome two newly appointed Consuls General to Poland, German Consul General, Bernhard Brasack and the US Consul General, Allen Greenberg.

The eagerly-awaited Tapping-of-the-Barrel, officially opening the festivities, did not go so smoothly this year. A number of prominent guests have struggled to open the troublesome barrel. Finally, the traditional cry of “O’zapft is!” (It’s tapped!”) went up!

Guests enjoyed several brands of Oktoberfest beer (Paulaner, Tyskie and Zamkowe) and many delicious specialties of Bavarian cuisine provided jointly by the Sofitel Hotel and the Radisson SAS. Monika Richardson, acting as the MC, was very successful in maintaining the enjoyable atmosphere of the evening, especially during the traditional raffle with exceptionally attractive prizes. Remarkable lighting and fire-dance shows, performances by Bavarian artists and a special Oktoberfest edition of famous television show “Europa da się lubić” made this year’s event especially unforgettable.

This business mixer has definitely become one of the main international business events in Wrocław and is a must-do for top management representatives of the Chambers’ member companies and international companies doing business in the Lower Silesia.
